YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN THE
Tennis Warehouse Australia
2010 Footy Tipping League
The TWA Footy Tipping League is made up of lots of different competitions to keep you interested for the whole AFL Season. There will of course be the standard tipping competition where your weekly tips are taken. But the thing that sets us apart is the variety of different competitions that are run in conjunction. Read below for more information.
NB: When you sign up for the league, the rules and conditions for each comp will be sent to you in more detail. Below is just a quick summary.
Competitions before the AFL Season starts:
“Top 8 Teams” Comp. Description: Tippers have up until 1 hour before the first match of the AFL season to pick the 8 teams they think will finish, from 1st till 8th, in the top 8 at the end of the 2010 season.
“Pick 8 Brownlow Medal” Comp. Description: Tippers have up until 1 hour before the first match of the AFL season to pick the 8 players they think will poll the most at the 2010 Brownlow count.
“Top Of Ladder” Comp. Description: Tippers have up until 1 hour before the first match of the AFL season to pick the team which they think will finish top of the ladder and how many wins they think this team will have for the season.
“Bottom Of Ladder” Comp. Description: Tippers have up until 1 hour before the first match of the AFL season to pick the team which they think will finish bottom of the ladder and how many wins they think this team will have for the season.
Competitions during the AFL Season:
“Regular Footy Tipping” Comp. Description: Tippers pick the 8 teams that they think will win each round. At the end of the season, the winner is the tipper with the most correct tips.
BONUS: There will be a winner from the round 1 to 11, and a winner from the rounds 12 to 22.
“Perfect Round” Comp. Description: Tippers who tip all 8 matches correctly in a round will win prize money.
“Total Margin” Comp. Description: Each week tippers decide on a winning margin for the first match of the round, called a “Round Margin.” The round margin is worked out as follows: Eg.1 – Geelong win by 20 points. You tip Geelong by 20 points. Your round margin is the difference, ie 0 Eg.2 – Geelong win by 20 points. You tip Geelong by 10 points, Your round margin is the difference, ie 10 Eg.3 – Geelong win by 20 points. You tip the other team by 20 points. Your round margin is the difference ie 40.
Each ‘”Round Margin” is added together and at the end of the season the tipper with the lowest “Total Margin” is the winner.
“Certainty Team” Comp. Description: In round 1, tippers choose a team that they think is certain to win. If their round 1 team loses, they are out of the competition. If their round 1 team wins, they stay in the competition and choose a team from round 2 whom they think will win. You can’t pick the same team two weeks in a row. The tipper who is the last one standing, or the tippers who survive to round 22, are the winners.
Competitions during the AFL Finals Series:
“Finals Footy Tipping” Comp. Description: At the beginning of the finals series, each player automatically has 200 shares, with each share being worth 1 cent. (You can buy more shares if you want, at 1 cent each). In each week of the finals, tippers place any number of their shares on who they think will win. The only rule is every share has to be used in each week of finals, whether you put all 200 on one game, or split the shares to put on all the games in that week. You can’t save shares for the second week of finals. As people lose their shares (due to tipping the losing team, the share value goes up).
The entry fee for the season is $50.00 (which is due before round 1) which places you in every one of the competitions above. Prize money for each comp will be worked out during round 1 when final numbers are known. An email will be sent for every round the Sunday night before the round begins, asking you for the following: - Your Tips for the week (the round draw will be in the e-mail) - Your Margin for the first match of the round (this match will be listed as well) - Your Certainty Team.
If you are interested in joining this comp, please send me your email address in a private message. Last time this comp ran we had 40 people with $2000 prize money, and the winner of the regular tipping comp won $700.

We have 10 people so far totaling $500 in prize money to be split between all the comps.
Footy season starts in less than a month, so make sure you get in before the season starts, or you will miss out.
