Yeah, that's cool Syntex. That's why I play summer comp and it was tongue in cheek to suggest that questions need to be asked. You're a good bunch of guys at Clarinda. Was really just thinking how much fun is it getting chopped 6-0 each week?

Reminds me of Brad Gilbert talking about people who say 'I only play for fun' - Gilbert's response was to say 'I have more fun when I win.' I think that's generally pretty true with tennis.

Bahahaha settle down Syntex!!!

I have a lot to answer for. Yes I am part of the Clarinda team in section 1 (we're having an ace time by the way), and yes we'll get our first win on the board soon. I had my first match and nearly won our first rubber for the season, I was 6-3 up against Asaf (Wes told me to only hit to his backhand as it constantly breaks down). Unfortunately for me Asaf hit some pretty flukey bhand winners, I'd like to see him do that again on a regular basis, they came out of nowhere!!!! He ended up winnign 8-6.

I guess we'll just have to try to beat the young Dendy side now ;) Can't wait to battle Robbie and Sam!!! LIFT!!!

How did Asaf lose to Robbie? Sure he's a great player but I wouldn't have picked that.

Y dont u have a look at my pennant results an c that i didn't loose a match at number 1 grade 2 this year.

Hey Robbie, welcome to the forum!

Since playing you in the Dendy Park Club Champs, I've kept you on my radar. I knew you were undefeated in Grade 2 at the number 1 spot, congratulations on this achievement. I was interested to see how you went against that Indian kid who was beating everyone but I understand you didn't get to play against him. It was a good win of yours against Jordan too.

I also know that Asaf only lost 1 match at number 1 (against a guy he beat convincingly last year). Asaf almost won Pennant Player of the year.

You are both excellent players and all I was saying is that if I had to pick a winner prior to you two playing, I would have picked Asaf. I don't think my comment was derogatory to you, I even mentioned I thought you were a great player.

You don't really need to defend yourself either, your tennis did the talking. Ultimately you beat Asaf and nobody can take that away from you. Congrats.

Good luck with the season and I'll continue to follow your results to see how you go.

No problem mate.

I haven't played summer comp for the last 3 years or so. Unfortunately I have to work on Saturdays as TWA is quite busy. I'm hoping to play next year though as we have more staff now to take care of things.

Hey Robbie, I think you'll find going into this weekend that it will be a tough ask to beat the last two Dendy Park Club champions. Just as the female players on the WTA Tour can't seem to beat both Serena and Venus Williams in the same event.

Kots I can't say I'm impressed. The one I won't name has got to be one of the worst Call of Duty/NBA Live players I've ever seen in my life. I won't even speak of his basketball skills. He can't be any good at tennis!!

What happened? You beat him at club champs if I recall?

Similar Agassi and his wig, I'm more concerned with my tan over summer, than tennis!

Disappointed Robbie didn't play, and chose not to risk his great summer record being tarnished.

How good were bottom placed Clarinda defeating Dendy Park 1 on the weekend?

Tom's captaincy has let his team down again, having to leave early and not having his number 4 player turn up until 2pm!

True to their character, Clarinda didn't take the bait, and won legitimately.

Dan Virgona man of the match.

He's a star in doubles. We played together last year. Kept zipping across and poaching all my balls! haha j/k he really helped out my lolipop serve. So much that i only hit 1 volley winner in the final tb, ftw!

Is clarinda going for a pennant team this year? maybe a merged one? or is everyone splitting back to there original clubs?
