Head have placed this new material in the shaft of the racquet. This material can change its behaviour under different conditions. This translates on the tennis court with the d3o allowing the racquet to adapt to the needs of you - the player. On your high impact (or aggressive) shots the smart molecules will lock together within nanoseconds and dramatically increase the stiffness of the whole racquet frame and therefore providing maximum power. On your slower speed impact shots like a slice or drop shot the d3o molecules will absorb the impact therefore providing a softer touch for better feel. This means passing shots will be even harder and drop shots will be more precise! The YouTek racquets also feature Head's Teflon grommet system which reduces friction. I just switched from the Babolat Areopro Team to this racquet. I love this racquet from the baseline, its OK at the net, serving is fantastic. NOT SURE WHAT STRINGS TO PUT IN THOUGH.
Quality

As you would expect, this racquet produces some great spin, I feel like I can put more heat on my first serve now also, like Kenny said though, things can get a bit tough at net.

This is my first mid plus racquet after using oversize racquets for the last 2-3years. and I am really impressed, plenty of power and spin for forehand, serve, backhand and the smaller head is still good on volleys. (Posted on 11/11/11)

Great feel, Just switched from Wilson to Head, This picks up amazingly. Has got plenty of power but also very good with spin. Struggles a bit at the net but excellent for serving. Haven't lost a match yet. (Posted on 14/08/11)
