Better than I expected (5/5) Jan 23, 2008 Patrick Sydney NSW AU
I have come from using a Head Flexpoint Fire and Head Liquidmetal Fire, both of which are very powerful racquets, with large racquet heads, and can generate alot of pace on the ball. I bought the Head Microgel Prestige Pro expecting a racquet that is control-orientated and could improve my game. I was unsure about the weight (340g) coming from a 290g racquet and played a tournament today. First thing I found was that I felt like I could aim my groundstrokes perfectly (something I struggled with using the previous racquets). I could create angles and also create alot of depth on my shot. However, what I didn't expect was how much power I was able to generate when I flattened my groundstrokes out. My backhand has gone from my weakness, to one of my strengths. I still retain perfect control, except the power on this racquet is amazing. For volleys I found the deep volleys and smashes a little stiff at first, but got used to that and was more confident in using them more frequently. The drop volley was a wondershot for me today. I was able to create a nice touch on the ball! Serves were much better than I expected. I was able to create alot of pace when I flattened my serve out, yet still had the option of the drifter or kicker outwide because of the spin I could create.
I recommend this racquet to almost everyone (a few people today had a hit and discovered that the racquet plays alot better with the long stroke style of play).
5 stars!!!
Solid with Great Feel (4/5) Mar 6, 2008 Owen Davies Melbourne VIC AU
Having been a hot and cold Die hard fan of the Prestige for the last 3 years I literally jumped out of my skin when Head released a 16 mains version of the Prestige...my dream racquet has finally arrived!

After one week of playing I have come to the following opinions.

Feel of this racquet especially through the air is amazing, much lighter and not so heavy compared to my Liquid Metal version - This would surely be the result of the new Microgel technology. The 16 mains more open string pattern allows for alot more feel but surprisingly not a substantial more forgiveness in off centred shots...you still need to middle every ball.

Tennis elbow I thought would be a real issue with this racquet although with its thin beam and slightly more open string pattern this racquet has caused not TE problems whatsoever.

The magical control I had in my 18/20 Liquid Metal version has been sacrificed a little in the new 16 mains microgel Prestige Pro, I have noticed my touch volleys/angle serves/backhand returns are a little harder to achieve from my new racquet. Although despite the downside this has been beneficial to my gam as im keeping the ball in play alot more now....reason for this being that if the control sensitivity is toned down - more forgiveness is achieved in groundstrokes.....even still though you need to middle the ball otherwise this racquet is not going to work. This racquet therefore is ideal for any advanced social player who is playing weekly but not practising daily (I hope all that made sense!).

Spin level has increased but not to the level that I was expecting. If you play with an extreme topspin Nadal-like forehand this racquet is definately not for you. That's fine for me though as I can turn to my Radical Pro if I need extreme forehand spin during a match.

All in all a solid game improving pro racquet ideal for advanced social players looking for the perfect blend of control and feel with a bit more spin and forgiveness of a 16 main racquet.

Great racquet (5/5) Oct 7, 2008 anonymous Melbourne Vic AU
I'd say that alot of people might think that the weight of the racquet will cause elbow problems or that sort of thing but I have been hitting with this racquet for around a month and haven't become sore or anything of that nature. For those of you that put spin on the ball, it probably is not the racquet for you how ever if u enjoy putting pace on the ball this racquet is ideal. This stick is quite similar to the ncode 61 tour in retrospect however I feel that you could extract more out of this racquet than you could with the Wilson. I found that I found greater depth and accuracy with this stick and that it provided assistance upon improving my first and second serve percentages. The down side of this racquet is its impact on volleys, I felt I lacked touch in this department as a result of the extra weight (previously used aerogel 300) but that a aside, I was very happy with the new addition to the prestige line.
