The Xtreme Pro Master GT Stringing Machine has Xtreme Sports Machines all new patented Self Propelled Raising Tension Head (RTH). As opposed to the RX machine which has an electronic based motor, the Pro Master GT sports a Self Propelled RTH which allows for faster pulls without having to wait for the Tension Head to raise before engaging string pull. This now gives the machine faster restrings with instant pull and raising action.

Xtreme Sports Machines have added their 2 Mode Electronic Turntable Brake. This has proven to be a great feature for some tennis racquets such as the Prince O3 range or for pre-lacing. With 2 modes of braking available (Automatic or Manual). In Auto mode the machine simply automatically locks the turntable on every pull, while Manual mode leaves your turntable free for when you want to engage the brake on.

I recently purchased the Xtreme Sports Machine Pro Master from Tennis Warehouse in Melbourne. Wes and his team were very helpful and professional and organised some different stringing machines for me to try out, and they were well informed of all the features and functions of the various machines.

There were 2 machines that clearly stood out from my testing - they were the Xtreme Sports Machine Pro Master and the RX-V2. The features that these Stringing Machines offered was by far above anything else I could find on the market for compareable or even more money (and that included stringers from USA & Europe), this made them fantastic value for money.

The Xtreme Sports Machine Pro Master is a superb machine to use and is the unit I bought. I have now done approx 70 restrings on my Pro Master and I absolutely love stringing on it.

Assembly from the box was very easy - 16 bolts (4 lots of 4 bolts) and it was all done ! took 10 mins, beware tho... you will end up with plenty of boxes and packing... it is very well packed.

Turn the on switch on and you see the Pro Master do a self diagnostic check, you can watch it on the digital screen... and it is all done! I was stringing within 15 mins of opening the boxes up!!

The quality of the components can be felt by using it, the racket clamping system is very easy and fast to use, the 6 & 12 o'clock clamps move very fast with small turns of the knob as do the 2, 4, 8 & 10 o'clock clamps. Mounting a variety of frames is no problems at all. The head spins very easily, the clamps are very smooth to slide and are a great shape to hold the string, again only small movements required to adjust the clamps, there is no movement in the clamps or posts when releasing the tension arm.

The Tension arm is quiet and easily accessible and very well controlled by the functions screen. You get to choose Regular/Kevlar or Poly as types of string and you get slow/mid/fast as tension head pulling speeds. You also get to choose 0, 5 or 10% pre stretch. With all these choices available and easily accessable (no menu's to scroll thru to get to the functions), you can set up the perfect tensioning for the type of string you are using to give you consistent results.

The knot button is on the main instrument panel (again no menu to scroll thru to get it) automatically increases tension by 10 % for one pull only, the machine is so smart that it even knows if you haven't tensioned a string on the knot function, so will not reset until it tensions one string!

Speaking of Consistent results... I have checked my string tensions with an ERT 300 regularly after stringing and have found the Xtreme Sports Machine Pro Master to be extremely accurate and consistent to the tensions I set. I have had to lower my tensions slightly to achieve the desired Dynamic Tension required as the Pro Master does pull tight (as you expect from any high end Stringing Machine).

All the technical stuff aside, one of the best things about the Xtreme Sports Machine Pro Master I can say is...........it is fun to use!!! it is an easy machine to use, well made, very well functioned and I just love stringing on it.
