Product Description
The Tecnifibre Black Code is pentagonal polyester string designed to have better elasticity, which delivers more pop, a bigger sweet spot and less shock at impact. The string also has a pentagonal shape for increased spin and feel.
Our play tester Shaun Hardwick tested Technifibre Black Code 1.24mm strung at 57lbs in a Head Microgel Prestige MP. Here is his review:
I’d been eagerly awaiting this string’s release after reading the buzz. During stringing it was obvious that this would be a nice comfortable string, it was quite soft and didn’t have that wirey property about it.
Black Code didn’t disappoint from the baseline, good access to spin, good power and really comfortable for a poly. Spin potential was slightly less than Pro Hurricane Tour, but its feel and forgiveness was better than most co-polyester strings.
I was getting a lot more response at the net, it’s well known that polys are terrible in regards to feel for volleys but this wasn’t too bad. Obviously no comparison to a multifilament, but more responsive than any other poly I’ve tried. Similar to Poly Plasma but more crisp.
On serve the power of the string was evident, first serve had a little more juice on it than normal with Pro Hurr Tour at the same tension. However I did lose a bit of kick on the second, the pentagonal profile is very subtle and is really only noticeable if you shine light off the strings.
Overall I was extremely impressed with the Black Code, so much so that it is now my string of choice for comp. It just feels fantastic everywhere in the court, I have more confidence at the net and find enough spin where needed. Good job Tecnifibre! I previously tried Red Code, however Black Code seems to do everything better and feels really good at the same time.

A few of my hitting partners have fallen in love with this string and I figured I should test it out see what all the fuss was about. WOW! I now understand why ithas won so many awards.
This is one of the softest polyester strings going around and therefore gave off fantastic amounts of power but doesn't turn your racquet into a rocket, because of the pentagonal shape of the string gave you tremendous bite on every shot allowing you to generate vast amounts of spin. Intially when I was stringing my racquet i noticed that there was a sort of sleppery/coated to the string which I presume helps with spin production.
This string is also oneof the most comfortable strings that I have ever played with, granted I tried the 1.18mm version of the string but compared to other polyester strings of similar gauge I can confidently say that this is the most comfortbale poly I have tried to date.
The tension maintenance of this string is above par aswell especially for a polyester string. After roughly 10-12 hours hitting I noticed some drop in tension but at that point the string didn't have much life left in it anyway.
All in all Tecnifibre really nailed it here. The only downside was the durability but that is easily fixed by going to a larger gauge which will still maintain the fantastic feel. (Posted on 24/05/12)
Sweet touch and spin. Very decent power. Great control. Retains tension very well. Also a nice gauge for an 18 x 20. Highly recommended. (Posted on 27/02/12)

I love my hard topspin groundstrokes, and so i actually bought these strings for the extra spin the sales pitch tries to sell you with the pentagon shaped profile. Don't rely on it too much. It doesn't help that much extra. BUT as far as the control this string gives you, it is the best string I have used in probably ever. I'm buying a roll. I feel i have my drop shots on a string. They feel unbelievable. Great strings!!! U won't be disappointed. (Posted on 16/02/12)
